What size is a typical portrait?

Standard bust adult portrait sizing begins at 50cm x 60cm. Child standard bust portraits begin at 40cm x 50cm. Subsequently, larger custom canvases are made upon request for larger projects.

NB Each canvas is made by scratch, as are the paints are mixed in the traditional Renaissance style.

How long does a sitting typically take?

​

Each sitting lasts 1-2 hours. It is recommended to book in 3 sittings from life overall. 

 

Where does a sitting take place?

​

Each sitting takes place in Mia's private 19th century studio in Kensington, London. Upon request, Mia also travels internationally for commissions.

​What should I wear for a sitting?

​

Anything you feel most represents you and your character. Some clients like to wear a colour of item of clothing or jewellery that holds specific significance. ​​​

​

How long will it take to complete?

​

On average, including live sittings, varnish and dry time, a portrait can take around 4 weeks to complete.
